Thanks very much, I will definitely try gani.
I assume that I need to make the binaries using Makefile.config_gld3, which 
seems easy enough. However, I am uncertain about how to disable the rge driver 
(or if I even need to) before trying the gani driver. Is it as simple as 
"rem_drv rge" ?
