This is good news since it means that the next generation of systems will easily support bandwidth reqirements. Thumper (and Thumper2) are very interesting hardware but the really interesting thing about COMSTAR + ZFS is its total flexibility (other than SAN interface card) for how the system is put together. The system could join many existing SAN-attached RAID arrays, it could front for several JBOD arrays, or it could be a single-box home-made storage server with 8 or 10 drives in the chassis.
