Can anyone tell me what "CBEM Element Manager" ("Common Block Element
Manager") is for Solaris? Best I can tell this is some sort of
undocumented storage management software. There is a patch delivered
on my Solaris 10 system (118165-05) which Sun does not admit to
(Sunsolve does admit to a 118165-04) which keeps interfering with
installing various unrelated Solaris patches. The patch can't be
backed out since Sun installed it without that ability.

I need to get rid of this abnoxious patch, and if it can be cleared by
removing software I don't need, I am happy to go that route.

This is a lesson to me to never use Solaris as initially delivered on
Sun hardware. Always wipe and install from scratch.
