I'd like to propose a new OpenSolaris project to implement an SRP target port provider for COMSTAR.
Project Synopsis: SRP (SCSI RDMA Protocol) port provider for COMSTAR Project Description: The project would deliver a target implementation of SRP and would use InfiniBand as the underlying transport. SRP accelerates the SCSI protocol by mapping the data transfer phases to RDMA operations. As a result an SRP initiator should be able to read and write data from an SRP target at high data rates with relatively low CPU utilization. This project will develop and contribute a COMSTAR SRP port provider implementation for the COMSTAR project. I'd like to request endorsement by the Storage Developer community.
