I'm going to need details.

What messages (not just error messages) do you see when you do
the following sequence of operations:

- edit /kernel/drv/mpt.conf
- run stmsboot -e
- reboot

It would help me if you could provide your edited /kernel/drv/mpt.conf
file and your /etc/path_to_inst, as well as the contents of the
mpxio-upgrade service log (/var/svc/log/system-device-mpxio-upgrade:default.log)
and your /var/adm/messages file.

Consistency? Just because it's a single controller doesn't mean
you *can't* enable MPxIO, and it doesn't mean that you shouldn't
enable it. It's up to you.
