I'm considering adding ZIL Separate Intent Logs using SSD to some
existing installations, but I have questions regarding just how big the
SSD's need to be.  This really comes down to how quickly the data will
actually flush to primary storage thus making room for additional
incoming writes.

So, specifically, two questions:

1) How quickly and by what trigger is data flushed from the SLOG to
primary storage?  (I setup a test once just using normal disks and I
didn't see any data migration occurring.)

2) How can I monitor SLOG fullness in order to determine whether
additional capacity is required?
