I'm considering adding ZIL Separate Intent Logs using SSD to some existing installations, but I have questions regarding just how big the SSD's need to be. This really comes down to how quickly the data will actually flush to primary storage thus making room for additional incoming writes.
So, specifically, two questions: 1) How quickly and by what trigger is data flushed from the SLOG to primary storage? (I setup a test once just using normal disks and I didn't see any data migration occurring.) 2) How can I monitor SLOG fullness in order to determine whether additional capacity is required? benr. _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
