I have been using CrashplanPro (http://www.crashplan.com)to backup
windows/mac clients to an OpenSolaris Server.

I just checked and they now have a Solaris Client. I have not used the
Solaris client yet.

I found the crashplanpro client better served our needs than Netbackup.
It's also considerably cheaper than deploying netbackup workstation
licenses.

There are 2 versions of Crashplan. The pro version is meant for
Enterprise backup while Crashplan lets you backup your files on up to 10
computers.

I have a small 25 seat license right now. I'll be moving up to 125 seat
soon.

What I like the most about the client is that is does client side
de-duplication while the netbackup client does not. You can do
de-duplication with the Netbackup server but you have to buy Netbackup
Puredisk ($$$) and a pretty big server.

Client side excludes are easier to deploy using Crashplan Pro than
Netbackup.

I still think Netbackup has it's place for us but CrashplanPro does a
better job with our clients.
