Does anyone one have experience with those SATA -> PATA IDE adapters? I
have a bunch of IDE drives I'd like to convert from hardware raid
running on a Linux box to a ZFS based storage array running on
OpenSolaris, but the chances of finding a supported 8 port IDE
controller (nevermind the bus) are between zero and zilch. One option I
have is to find an inexpensive, supported SATA controller (or a pair of
them, perhaps) installed on a supported PCIe motherboard and run them
off of that. Yes..this is a home NAS environment configuration I'm
referring to.
