I would like to propose a new OpenSolaris project for T11 Storage
Management
HBA API (SM-HBA) <http://www.t11.org/ftp/t11/pub/sm/hba/06-382v1.pdf>
based Serial Attached SCSI(SAS) HBA management.
The SM-HBA standard has been evolved from its predecessor FC-HBA to allow
an application to manage both SAS and Fibre Channel HBAs through common
interfaces.
The goal of this project is to deliver an implementation of SM-HBA and also
to provide SAS HBA management through SM-HBA interfaces. It would deliver a
SM-HBA vendor specific library(VSL) for SAS HBA and an utility which
consumes SM-HBA interfaces and reports SAS HBA and target configuration
that is discovered on a host. For more details, please refer to PSARC
