NDMP rules. For OpenSolaris install SUNWndmp, for Solaris Express/S10 install SUNWndmpu and SUNWndmpr: r...@quadra ~$ pkg install SUNWndmp DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB) Completed 1/1 13/13 0.26/0.26 PHASE ACTIONS Install Phase 38/38 PHASE ITEMS Reading Existing Index 8/8 Indexing Packages 1/1 r...@quadra ~$ svcs -a | grep -i ndmp disabled 9:58:05 svc:/system/ndmpd:default Once its installed you need to enable a user with 'ndmpadm', and then enable the NDMP service. b...@quadra ~$ ndmpadm enable -a cram-md5 -u arkeia Enter new password: Re-enter password: b...@quadra ~$ svcadm enable ndmpd b...@quadra ~$ svcs -a | grep -i ndmp online 0:17:43 svc:/system/ndmpd:default At that point you should be able to go to Legato and provide the user/pass/host and start using it. As you can see in the example, I have successfully tested it with a trial version of Arkeia and I think I tried BakBone at some point but not Legato or NetBackup. My experience with the commercial backup tools with NDMP extensions was fine, but I'm still working through problems using 'ndmpcopy' as a 'do-it-yourself' solution. benr. _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
