Whats the status of support for these in Opensolaris? I'm looking for options to expand my home file server which has no space for new disks internally, so was considering products similar to this: http://www.sansdigital.com/towerraid/tr8mb.html
I'm not clear if that would work at all in Opensolaris at the moment, or if it does, which sata controllers support the port multiplier feature? Are there any other options people have had success with to expand storage on typical x86 pc hardware? It's for home use, so looking for relatively low cost solutions but would like something a bit neater than just adding more sata cards & running a pile of sata cables out the back of the case.
