I'm in the same boat. After replacing lsi megaraid SCSI raid controller with lsi 21320 SCSI card, I'm very happy with performance now.
I don't have comstar iscsi target setup yet on b114 but I have FC target and CIFS running now. Disks are 2 Maxtor 10K V SCSI strip, 4 Seagate 10K.6 in raidz, no slog yet CIFS: copy 3.3G dvd iso file from Windows 7, avg 90MB/s FC (4gb qlogic): 3.3Gb/s read, write depending on block size, 4K random IO is ok, but I'll add ssd as slog later to test.
