I did as several others have done, which is use the Intel Little Falls 2 in a Chenbro ES34069 with a Syba sil3124 card, and installed OpenSolaris on it. It's running 2009.06 but also had 2008.11 for a few months. It runs great and the Kill-a-watt shows it's around 62W when idle, with four Seagate 7200 RPM disks. Half of what my old server was consuming, and just 20 more than the Drobo and DroboShare combo that this new box has replaced.
