if you are going to use zvol-backed iscsi you should use snv_115 or later
with comstar, the last few months of builds before that have had terrible
performance due to write-caching behavior changes for zvols.  there have
been a few threads about this recently, you can search the archives.

there is one major outstanding iscsi performance issue that i see on my
gear, 6826241 ("picket fence effect" according to the bug writeup).
