I had a very similar issue with my setup, except my initiator was a Windows 2003 Server. I managed to resolve the issue by rebooting the OpenSolaris server, and on next connection the iSCSI lun was available and accessible.
My guess is that there was some persistent session on the OpenSolaris server side as I had originally opened my view to all. That is, stmfadm add-view <LU-name>, then I had removed this view and added a new view that was hostgroup specific.
