Hi Ronnie
Many thanks for cross-posting that interesting &
fairly detailed feedback from the open-fcoe list.

I know Zhong's reply, to my post, was emailed through
to the open-fcoe mail list, but it does not seem
to have been accepted, and must have been lost
into the bit bucket in transit at some point.

(They do seem to accept a lot of spam on the Open-fcoe list!)

Anyway, you seem to be working along similar lines,
and have extracted the necessary explanation,
from the open-fcoe people.

I see a latter post on their list:

  http://www.open-fcoe.org/pipermail/devel/2009-September/004103.html

..indicates that Cisco's Joe Eyholt may 'soon'
take a look at fixing the open-fcoe initiator,
for point-to-point. It would be good if Zhong
could get in email contact with Joe, to sort
out any interoperability issues.

Good suggestion. I saw Joe's analysis forwarded by Ronnie, that makes sense and matches the capture. And I will get the FCoE target issues root caused before contacting him.

Thanks & Regards,
Zhong

Until then, now that the snv_122 version of OpenSolaris
is easily available, I will have to try out the
the OpenSolaris FCoE initiator.
I see from your post here:

 http://www.open-fcoe.org/pipermail/devel/2009-September/004094.html

..that I can be optimistic of getting it working.
Best regards
Nigel Smith
