Travis,
Sorry if this is a simple problem. We are still newbies with COMSTAR.
We have followed the directions from the website and setup COMSTAR.
We created a 3.5TB pool and a 1TB volume. We shared this 1TB volume
using comstar out to a test server.
The problem is that our clients can see the volume, they just cant
use the volume.
ESX can see the volume but we cant format the volume, it just locks
up.
FREEBSD can see the volume and format it, but we receive the
following errors when we try to mount the volume.
Isp0: data overrun for command on 0.0.1
(da1:isp0:0:0:1): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x52, scsi
status == 0x0
I am not sure what logs we need to include
Can you share the version number of OpenSolaris or SXCE that you are
using?
Can you discover the iSCSI LU you configured with COMSTAR using the
Solaris iSCSI Initiator? Can you format, mount and access the device?
Since you are seeing different behaviors between ESX and FREEBSD, what
about creating an iSCSI LU that is less than 1TB?
If the network between the iSCSI Initiator and COMSTAR is somewhat
quiet, or on a private segment, a snoop trace capture to a file would
be helpful. "snoop -d <network-device> -o /tmp/<filename>.out.
After capturing the data across the iSCSI failures you note, TAR and
compress this file, then use: http://supportfiles.sun.com/upload, send
relevant information about

Thanks
