Hi,

I have a Shuttle sn27p2 barebone chassie with an AMD athlon64 X2 and
2 sata 2 channels attached to the nvidia MCP55 chipset.
This box has been happily running multiple versions SXCE and OSOL for 2
years or more.

I have a WD 10k Rpm sata drive and a Seagate 7.2 Krpm on the first sata
channel and an
additional seagate 7.2K rpm drive on the second channel.

When installing or uppgrading from B122 to anything later using either
OSOL. or SXCE the
10Krpm system disk is no longer visible . only the two seagate drives are
seen and
the installer either hangs after trying to enumerate the 10Krpm WD drive, or
continues and
fails to generate device nodes in /dev/*dsk/ so that the system disk isn't
available later on
when the installer present's the list of disk's to choose from for
installation.

So something was changed in B123 onwards , is there a work around for
this problem
or is this a new bug ?

I can see when running a verbose boot from the SXCE B126 installer that the
disk is found
but not enumerated. i.e. no devices are created, therfore this might be a
"devfsadm" bug ?
