Hi

I'm new to this list, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post
my problems.

I have the following setup:

OpenSolaris with a zpool named "pool12" presenting a volume to a
W2k3-Server through FC.
r...@storage14:~# uname -a
SunOS storage14 5.11 snv_111b i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

When I run IOmeter on the windows-machine and have a look at "zpool
iostat pool12 1" I see the following strange behavior:
About 2/3 of the time IOmeter writes at rates from 10-20MB/s while zpool
iostat shows the same traffic as READ on the pool. (no write ist done)
The other 1/3 of the time IOmeter does not write anything and the zpool
writes about 50-60MB/s (no read is done).

Does anyone have information about how to debug this?
(as there should be a continuous write at about 50MB/s possible)

Configuration of the storage is:

HP P6402 Controller with 14 300GB SCSI-Disks configured as Raid5 with
one HotSpare. The controller presents 2 LUNs (as a result of a 2TB
limit)
These are:

r...@storage14:~# zpool status pool12
  pool: pool12
 state: ONLINE
 scrub: none requested
config:
        NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
        pool12 ONLINE 0 0 0
          c10t0d0 ONLINE 0 0 0
          c10t1d0 ONLINE 0 0 0

r...@storage14:~# uname -a
SunOS storage14 5.11 snv_111b i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

Sebastian Ries
