Well, with an 8-slot JBOD, I figure I'll have: 2 drive mirror for rpool (has to be bootable) 5 drive raidZ for data 1 hot spare Right now, all I have is the rpool, and it is using 1TB drives. Those boot fine on my SB2K. I'm wondering if I'm going to run into an OpenBoot problem booting from even 2TB drives (which would be a show-stopper for an old box where firmware updates are unlikely). Even if the OS can handle those, I have no idea if OpenBoot can. It is encouraging to hear that the OS should probably handle 3TB drives (other than for booting, right now). -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list storage-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
