I have been following the recently posted threads on Port Multipliers and Solaris but I
am slightly confused about the actual availability of the Port Multiplier driver (even
though it might "blacklisted").
I am currently using OpenSolaris 2009.06 with a Supermicro X7DWE motherboard,
ADSA4R5 SATA controller and a Silicon Image Sil3726 Port Multiplier.
I have no problem finding the drives until I connect the Sil3726 to a port on
the ADSA4R5 SATA controller then the drives on the other side of the Sil3726
device are hidden.
I google this ADSA4R5 SATA controller.
http://www.addonics.com/products/host_controller/adsa4r5.asp
It uses SI3124 chipsets. But the Opensolaris si3124(7D) driver does not
support the port multiplier yet.
Also, if I attach the Sil3726 to a SATA port on the motherboard (and select
AHCI mode), I can only see the first drive and the remaining four are still
hidden.
I also search this MB on supermicro's websites,
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon1333/5400/X7DWE.cfm
The specifications say that the MB uses the ESB2 south bridge chipsets -
AFAIK the ESB2 SATA controller does not support the port multipliers.

I can not find a driver in 2009.06 but I suspect that it was never put into it.
My problem is that I don't quite understand which OpenSolaris the driver might
actually be in.
Any help and/or clarification of how to get the driver and to use it with
2009.06 would be great.
Thanks, Tim
