That's the theory, yes :)
I'd run:
pfexec pkg install SUNWipkg
before the second command, to be sure to have the latests pkg tools.

I have few more questions too:
1) When you say snv_122 or snv_134, you mean open solaris build 122 or build
134 right? Pls correct if I am wrong.
OpenSolaris build X includes more code (install, X, desktop) than the
one provided by snv_X, but they're quite the same in our context.
2) Is there any way if I can install SUNWfcoe, SUNWfcoet and SUNWfcoei alone on
my system instead of upgrading to a newer version fully?
No, because the dependencies between kernel and userland.
3) I understand that we cannot install individual packages/drivers by just
downloading those packages alone and installing seperately just incase the
system is not connected to internet. Is that the way it works in opensolaris
for installing any additional packages?
You can install individual packages, but they are usually tied to some
OpenSolaris version (with exceptions like compilers, NetBeans, VirtualBox).
My advice is to wait until OpenSolaris 2010.05 is released (or install
the beta based on snv_134).
