It's just a theory but discovery may not be working correctly because of the unusable FCP_dev's.
Try: cfgadm -o unusable_FCP_dev -c unconfigure <Ap_Id> on each of your unsuable Ap_Id's. If the lun still isn't discovered after this you can try to unconfigure/configure the controllers. -Alex *http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do;jsessionid=9011b9dacffa0ffffffffb615db182bbcd7b?bug_id=6559281 -----Original Message----- From: storage-discuss-boun...@opensolaris.org [mailto:storage-discuss-boun...@opensolaris.org] On Behalf Of Ken Woolard Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 2010 11:44 PM To: storage-discuss@opensolaris.org Subject: [storage-discuss] LUN discovery issue on a Clarion CX700 Having a problem discovering a newly created LUN from a CX700 to a SF V440. The V440 currently has a number of LUN's being presented from the CX700 ( Zoning in the fabric has been done) and being used in a number of zpools on the V440. ==> What I did was destroy a couple of zpools and thereafter removed the LUN from the CX700 via the usual process i.e. remove from Storage group and then unbind from the Raid group. ==> I then went and created a new LUN on the CX700 to present to the V440 but for some reason it's not picking it up. The OS is Sol 10 8/07 and I was under the impression the OS will automatically discover the LUN. I did a ls -l /dev/dsk, and format and also an iostat -En but seen no sign of the disk. I then tried the manual steps:- # cfgadm -al -o show_FCP_dev Ap_Id Type Receptacle Occupant Condition c0 fc-fabric connected configured unknown c0::50060161106027b6,0 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060161106027b6,1 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060161106027b6,4 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060161106027b6,6 disk connected configured unusable c0::50060169106027b6,0 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060169106027b6,1 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060169106027b6,4 disk connected configured unknown c0::50060169106027b6,6 disk connected configured unusable c1 fc-fabric connected configured unknown c1::50060160106027b6,0 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060160106027b6,1 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060160106027b6,4 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060160106027b6,6 disk connected configured unusable c1::50060168106027b6,0 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060168106027b6,1 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060168106027b6,4 disk connected configured unknown c1::50060168106027b6,6 disk connected configured unusable # cfgadm -c configure c0 # cfgadm -c configure c1 # devfsadm -c disk -v But still no sign of the new LUN.
