Hello list,

I'm just browsing throught the "latest" changes in the Linux I/O Stack. Some
changes, while made for 4k drives, would perfectly solve the "block alignment
issue" on linux.

The changes mentioned here:
https://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/summit/msnitzer_1120_optimize_storage.pdf may also
fit well with comstar zvols to match the block size.

So I set up snv_134, created zvol and connected with current linux (2.6.32).
However it seems comstar is not supporting the required page to get the proper
values for physical_block_size and logical_block_size described in the slides.

Does Comstar Support this or is it a iSCSI Initiator issue ?

stressclient5:~# /usr/bin/sg_inq -p 0xb0 /dev/sda
VPD INQUIRY: page=0xb0
    inquiry: field in cdb illegal (page not supported)

sda = scsi disk.

Regards,
Robert
