Hello, I attached a Vertex 2 as a log device to an existing RAIDZ1 vdev (3xWD RE3, same controller). Before attaching the Vertex I had constant write speeds of about 60-70MB/s via NFS. After write speeds drop to about half (around 35MB/s). I was wondering what the reason for that might be? I expected the Vertex 2 to be well suited as ZIL.
Also, I created a pool existing of only the Vertex 2 and, again via NFS, I have sustained write performance of about 115MB/s. It's not that I expected to significantly increase write speeds with the log device but I have some trouble understanding the significant loss in write performance.
