There is also a bug with some discussion:

I am glad to see the activity on that branch as well as the discussion;
I have posted a response in the bug which should address ideas about how
we can combine the two mssql branches. It also addresses how we can
include mxODBC compatibility within Storm while still allowing alternate
connectors such as adodbapi and pymssql.
