To both of you: make a copy of, and just edit, /etc/X11/XF86Config; you
don't have to go through yet another round of XF86Setup just to fix
your mouse.
BTW, IMHO, the correct way to make a mouse work in linux is to get gpm
working. Once that's done, add the -R switch in /etc/gpm.conf. Then
edit XF86Config's Pointer section Device /dev/gpmdata, Protocol
MouseSystems.
It would also *really* help us to help you if you told us what your
hardware is. Serial mouse, ps2, busmouse, index finger ... ?!?
Proofreading would be nice too.
