I'm running rain, installed from the ISO CD image. I was going through
"X Font De-Uglification HOWTO"
(http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/FDU.html) and decided to install
xfstt to see how well it worked. Did the following from the console:

apt-get install xfstt (seemed to work ok)
xfstt --sync (reported three fonts, seems ok)

Added 'FontPath "unix/:7100"' to my XF86Config. When I tried to go
back into X, it wouldn't start. The monitor kept flickering like it
was trying different video modes. Couldn't CTRL-ALT-F1 back to the
console, and I had to lean on CTRL-ALT-DEL for 30 seconds to get it to
reboot.

Managed to boot from a Debian CD and took out the FontPath statement,
then I was able to boot Storm again.

Any ideas here? I'd really like to get TT fonts working - the standard
X fonts are less than spectacular :-) Thanks!
