Unfortunately for you the Conexant winmodem is not suported yet,nor by
an opensource driver nor by manufacturer.Basically no vendor will make a
driver unless they have to.Lucent made one because they lost the
contracts
they had with Compaq and HP in favor of....Conexant.So unless an open
source driver is being done ..highly doubt COnexant will make one-they
don't have to-COmpaq alone is a huge market-the biggest computer vendor
out there not speaking HP.
 Get a Lucent or a decent hardware modem.
