Hello again.

When I first loaded Storm it automatically recognized my sound card (SB
live using emu10k1) and ethernet card (Realtek using rtl8139). I
assumed it loaded these into the kernel. The ethernet card worked right
out, but I still haven't gotten sound (it said I needed to compile the
kernel with sound support)

So, I compiled my first kernel (2.2.16) using the 'make config'. When I
loaded 'make bzImage' (yes, I did do a little dance when it worked) my
network card no longer worked, so I just reloaded Storm Linux from the
CD (not knowing how to revert to 2.2.14-storm kernel) Again it
autodetected my SBlive and Realtek. I then reconfigured with 'make
xconfig' and noticed when I went into Networking, the option to choose
my ethernet card it was grayed out.

So pretty much what I'm asking is do do I have to "uninstall" anything
to xconfig the ethernet card for module and the sound card, and if so,
how can this be done?

I've tried clicking on everything in xconfig to enable all options, but
Realtek still remained grayed out.
