Installing storm linux has gone fairly well. But I am having a
problem with connecting to the internet.
It goes like this:

kppp works just fine while logged in as root (as well as, of course,
pppd). But I can't figure out how to get myself as a regular user to
use kppp. It says "Sorry, can't open modem." Why can't I "get
connected" as a regular user AND use netscape?
pppconfig went fine -- as root I can use the "pon" command and get
online just fine but, of couse, not as a regular user -- and I was told
I could go into /etc/pppd/ and edit the "options" file to read "noauth"
on line 37 (or so). I've also been actively digesting "Learning
Debian/GNU Linux" by Bill McCarty and "Linux For Dummies" and
nothing yet has done it. I read through some of the FAQs on the
KDE website and it still hasn't resulted in my being able to connect
via kppp as a regular user. Where am I going wrong?

I am a newbie and would seriously love someone to help me out
with this sour pickle. Otherwise I have thoroughly enjoyed learning
this incredible os. Thanks in advance for any help!
