I "upgraded" to potato a month ago using a 33.6 kbps modem.....the
total upgrade I think was 230 mb and took about 30 hours (and I wasn't
downloading from Uraguay). I messed things up so much that I
eventually ended up reinstalling the rain and slink versions
again....and I learned a few new things by starting from scratch again.
While the more adventuresome non-newbies may disagree, from my point of
view it's more practical to wait for the next distrubution of Storm to
come out on CD (late summer?) than to attempt a complete upgrade on a
slow modem.
