I have always upgraded using a dial-up modem link even when I also had a
33.6K modem. OK, it does take a few hours - but at usual local call
rates it really does not amount to a great deal of money. For me it was
still less than the cost of buying and shipping a CD-ROM. Now in the UK
we have unmetred (ie. basically free) access to the Internet so it is
even better! I can double up my ISDN connection to 128K and still pay
nothing for the download.
