Decisions, decisions....
I am using a program called Grace to do scientific plots (It's really
great, especially if you need to generate plots in PostScript format) .
I found that the version listed by the Storm Package Manager was missing
a lot of options, so I compiled the latest version. The only catch is
that it is a little bit buggy (occasional crashes, occasional caps-lock
problems) which the documentiation says is due to bugs in older versions
of Motif or LessTif. In fact, it recommends version 0.91.4 or higher of
LessTif (which is higher than even the unstable DEB packages) or Motif.
My questions are as follows:
1. I am planning on uninstalling my current version of LessTif
first....will this affect other applications installed by STORM?
2. Which should I compile: Open Motif or LessTif? Success or horror
stories will both be equally appreciated (Ok, I guess it would be better
to hear success stories). The Open Motif documentation talks of a DEB
version but I cannot find it.
3. If I choose one or the other, is there any advantage to going ahead
and installing the Motif versions of Netscape as opposed to the ones in
the default Netscape installation of Storm?

Thanks for the advice,
Glen
