 That is if /etc/fstab is edited to support it and the proper symlinks
are in /dev to pint to the real devices In the case of a rescue floppy
or an unknown system is better to know the full command .Also when you
use the short version the partition type is autodetected which may fail
with
floppies.
  Basically mount /floppy is not a new command,is just a workaround for
when we're just to lazy to type-that is all the time(I use it as well)
,but I still say that it's good to know some of the basics.I'm learning
now vi even tough I use mc since I found myself without it on AIX and 
MacOS X while vi was there.That quickly reminded me that it's good to
know
of a fallback.:-)
