Afternoon Folks,

After having played with Stormix back in December and moving over to
Mandrake in March, it's nice to be back under the swirl.

The new release Hail, is much more stable IMHO then the previous
versions I had played with. I have been running it at home now for two
weeks and can't figure out why, but it seems about 20% faster at least
then the red Hat 6.2 I had on my box before that.

That being said, I am going to install it on my Linux
Dev-server/workstation at work this week. Is there anyone who has had
any problems with getting the Storm Package Manager to work through a
firewall? We have a really tight firewall here, so before I fdisk the
drive I want to make sure I can get packages with the tool and not have
to do everything by hand. The package manager is IMHO one of the
sweetest things about Stormix. Red Hat and the whole RPM crew should
take a look at it and learn. <just my two CDN cents>

BTW, is sness still on this list? And who all is attending the GeekRave
in Vancouver this weekend?

Cheers folks,
