        I recently set up an Epson 860 with printtool. I chose the generic
'stcolor' driver. This generates your /etc/printcap file. If you named your
printer lp0 you can try as root $ echo hello > /dev/lp0, this should at
least let you know if you can print.
        Also as root $ lpc status will show if printing is enabled and check
if the printer daemon lpd is running.Then you start to solve your problem.
