I was able to download things under windows and run apt-get -f install
after using dpkg -i for all of the files needed for task-x-window-system
I also removed gdm in order to install xdm
The mouse works fine. The keyboard works fine. I ran xf86config and
configured the video. I also ran XFree86 -configure I ran anXious and it
detected my video card as well. I tried dpkg-reconfigure --frontiend=dialog
debconfig
Still no video. startx crashes and returns to the command prompt. I still
have the problem that it says "no screens found" after scanning all of the
video modes.
