If you go back to the discussions from November/December on the debian
mailing list archive site, somewhere in there is where you find out how to
make it work. You basically have to set it up with gdm by putting a link to
the kde2 file in the gdm folder. Then invoke gdm to add it as an option.
(This is from memory. I had to do the same thing.)
In the meantime, I will see if I can find the message and point you to it.
