I thought it a good rant too, but not being one of the protagonists I make no judgement. Plainly if the stakes are getting higher then independently verified testing methods become more important but these devices are simple, even Nat's video shows this. His device is exceptional in being so well engineered and crafte. Any bright engineer is likely able to come up to speed on the subject within weeks.
