Dear Alexis

Very interesting! Very comprehensive.

As the system efficiency (raw fuel to delivered lighting) is about 10-12% is
it possible that the fuel could be used (maybe steam?) to generate power by
some other means?

If you have a small, inefficient steam engine could you generate electricity
at an efficiency of 15-20%?

Regards

Crispin

Hi All,

Alexis Belonio sent us a report on the recent community street lighting
project in the Philippines. d

They are working together with local businesses and have built a small scale
gasifier powered by discarded rice hulls.
