I went looking for similar products - to see what range in dimensions (and prices) might be available.  There are probably many such sources, but a surprisingly large range of mesh strainers are at:

      http://www.globalindustrial.com/g/foodservice/handling/strainers-skimmers/vollrath-wire-mesh-strainers

For smaller TLUDs, a few strainer choices (fine, medium, coarse, etc) can be purchased for $10.

I look forward to hearing what people learn with a larger array of strainer types.

A beautiful stove and very well written essay, thank you so much.

It occurs to me that the elements in the kerosene heaters we had when I was a kid could be used in a similar way.  Pity that these are no longer around.  Are the wire domes able to be purchased any where?

Yes this stove is very very impressive! I am wondering since it has such a good blue flame could the stove also be used indoors the way gas stoves are used? You see I live in the North of Canada and we have 6 months of winter so cooking outside is not really practical during the winter. If the stove was used also with an standard oven exhauster fan to the outdoors would that help keep the CO levels safe?
