Setting aside heat transfer to the pot, I was just wondering if the reported gas temperature differences, with and with out the screen, might represent a delta T across the screen ( about 90C) and then we could look at the enthalpy change in the gas as a ball park check on the radiant heat flux from the screen. Of course many assumptions must be made about mass flow until excess air numbers are available but those can be made reasonably to shed some light on the likely boundaries of real stove conditions.
