Dear David and to all Stovers,

I received the message below from David Bramham <[email protected]> in Australia.

I am bringing his question to the right list, and I hope that David will join the list. Meanwhile, any replies should also include David's personal email address.

We are interested in your work, and to have your results be beneficial to many people in addition to those on Vanuatu.

I have only done a few simple experiments to make TLUD gasifiers in old gas bottles. (I mainly work with sheet metal and many tin cans in the prototypes.) But other Stovers have done some. Especially (sorry I forgot his name) in Texas who cooks regularly with TLUDs at his home.

To all: Please do not overlook the metal containers for small propane bottles and for covers of oil filters.

To David, I hope that you will make major progress and will send messages back to all of us. Information about cookstoves on Vanuatu would be interesting if you have it. Michael Trevor in the Marshall Islands might also have some useful inputs.

Hi,
I am part of an organization called "The Men's Shed", we are a group of retired
men who have an interest in constructing project in all types of materials ,wood, metal
etc.The organization is getting to be Australia wide and growing at an alarming rate.
At my particular establishment we have been making stoves out of old 9 and4
liter gas bottles and sending them to any of the needy people in Vanuatu .We
are currently experimenting with wood gas stoves using the same bottles one
inside the other with all the principles of this type of burner ie secondary
primary air etc and have had some success , with our main source of information
coming from the Internet. Our aim is ,once we have an acceptable model,is to
supply the same people that have no other means of cooking except by their
current means using smoke generating fires.
My reason for contacting you is ,after reading your blog, is " Can you supply
specifications for such a stove using these used gas bottles".
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards -David
