The Next Generation of Heating Wood Stove Design Challenge is now underway!
The Challenge seeks to promote next generation stove designs, build a
community of innovators and showcase stove innovation to the public.

The Design Challenge will culminate in a Wood Stove Decathlon, modeled
after the Solar Decathlon, which will take place on the National Mall in
November 2013. The Challenge grew from discussions between the Alliance for
Green Heat and editors at Popular Mechanics magazine who believe innovation
can overcome some of the problems inherent in the wood stove and that a
"smart" wood stove may be on the horizon.

The Challenge is sponsored by the Alliance for Green Heat with a number
partner institutions: Popular Mechanics magazine, the Washington State
Department of Ecology, the New York State Energy Research & Development
Authority (NYSERDA), the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the Biomass
Thermal Energy Council, Osprey Foundation Hearth, Patio and Barbecue
Association (HPBA), The Arbolito Foundation, and Sunstein, Kann, Murphy &
Timbers, an IP law firm.
