The thing that impressed me was the hardness and density of the slow grown material. I expected it to be like "limestone" but it is more like marble. Neither will take heat from a fire indefinitely because they de-hydrate (literally). Same with cement. Maybe 400 C, but is it possible to shape things. What I know is that if you raise the current, it decreases the density. This offers the possibility of creating stove parts with different insulating properties.
