Thanks Christa.
Before we leave this topic, is this visit related to the upcoming Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GACC) meeting, "Catalyzing Market Development Efforts In Kenya", 3 - 7 February in Nairobi? According to the GACC website this seems to be an invitation only event to celebrate the Kenya Country Action Plan for Clean Cooking (CAP) which seems to be funded largely by a USAID grant. Is this just focused on Kenya or is there a benefit to other GACC participants? "In 2012, the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and the Clean Cookstoves Association of Kenya launched the Kenya Country Action Plan for Clean Cooking (CAP) as part of Kenya's commitment to the global goal of 100 million households adopting clean cooking solutions by 2020. On the occasion of the one year anniversary of the CAP launch, the Global Alliance, the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya and other Kenyan and East African partners and stakeholders will convene during multiple meetings, trainings, and sessions to report on progress to date, share new information, and plan future efforts in conjunction with commitments already made toward national, regional, and global clean cooking goals. Connecting entrepreneurs and investors, conducting humanitarian and cookstove and fuels training sessions, engaging with Governors to implement the CAP at the county level, and moving forward with the global standards process will all take place throughout the two weeks. We will also have a delegation of international cookstoves entrepreneurs who will connect with local actors along the cookstoves and fuels value chains. Individual invitations will be issued for the separate events listed below. If you have any questions, or would like to be invited to any of the specific sessions, please contact Alex Trueman at <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] or 1-202-778-1620" http://www.cleancookstoves.org/media-and-events/events/catalyzing-market-dev elopment-kenya.html Tom From: Stoves [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of CHRISTA ROTH Sent: Friday, December 27, 2013 7:38 AM To: Discussion of biomass cooking stoves Subject: Re: [Stoves] Dr Anderson to Nairobi on 12- 13 January about gasifier stoves Dear all, Is it possible to please do this type of discussions without the inclusion of the general public of the stoveslist? Thanks. Let's keep the list interesting for all and not clutter it up with bilateral logistics. I would like to use the occasion to give special thanks to Tom and Erin for another year of hard work to enable this discussion list . And I wish all readers a good start into the New Year 2014! Christa .
