I'm going to make a very general (and quick) comments about participant responsibility in our forum. These comments were triggered by some recent posts, however they are meant for everyone and are in response to some ongoing issues that involve many different participants (in short, no one should take this post personally).

Each participant is responsible for making sure that their "PUBLIC" posts belong in our public forum. Sometimes, our responses are better suited for a private email.
Personal disputes or arguments should be taken off-line (private). Before posting to the forum, make sure that your post is relevant to the overall discussion and would not be better directed towards an individual (off-line).
ALSO: Every participant has the ability and the right to ignore the posts of certain individuals who they find tiresome or offensive. While, we make a substantial effort at keeping our forum respectful and civil, everyone should expect to be offended from time to time.
On occasion, I have asked several posters to "reign in" their rhetoric. I must also ask others to try and be a little more tolerant of viewpoints and writing styles that might sometimes make you uncomfortable.
Bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and dramatically different political philosophies to discuss public policy, will sometimes be a messy process. But, I sincerely believe that it is worth the effort and that the long terms results are worth the work.
I hope, that participants will judge the value of our forum based on the overall quality of the discussion and not on specific posts or individual participants.
If you have questions, comments, or complaints about the forum, please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes,
