Post news and information from your neighborhood: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________ I simply enjoy any attempt at slappin' a tax on the billfold of anybody making $10 mil. I would also say that our Mr. Thune didn't include enough progressivity in his tongue in cheek proposal. Fat-cat Leatherdale could easily afford a little more than coughing up a measly 3%!
What this plebeian would do is give the fatcats what they want and present it to the Mayor along with a tack-on that would establish a minimum $15.00 / hr. Living Wage ordinance for the entire city! Now this would come at a time when the Mayor's corporate buddy, Wal-Mart, is advertising for "career positions" (yesit actually says that! ) like "cart pusher". Didn't ya always wanted to grow up and become a Wal-Mart "cart pusher"? (Read their Midway store employment ad.) A career of a life time awaits at Wally-World! A $100 night at the new stadium will be unaffordable, but oh wellI'm just a plebeian! Russ (The Truth) Hanson. The Truth in St. Paul. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
