Upcoming events. The way decisions are being made at the state level is becoming
increasingly alarming.

The NEAT Board approved a resolution "to collaborate with parent organizations forming
locally and across the state to raise the conversation to a higher level" and is
hosting the following event for parent leaders, statewide:

STATEWIDE FORUM ON RAISING THE CONVERSATION TO A HIGHER LEVEL (L)
3/11/2004 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, 1115 Greenbrier St, Saint Paul (1 block east of
Payne, 2 blocks south of Maryland) - map -

...a statewide conversation on using the data to empower not only our teachers and our
schools, but also our communities to engage in effective, collaborative efforts to
identify needs and develop solutions to address them.

If you're concerned about how the state is using the data, please plan to attend AND
pass this invitation on to friends and family across MN (especially rural MN).

NEAT ACTION PLANNING ASSEMBLY (L-T)
3/20/2004 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Participate in developing the NEAT citywide action plan! Facilitated by Roger Barr,
Support Our Schools.

Come and be part of shaping the purposes and activities of the only independent,
citywide association for St. Paul public school parents, parent organizations and
community members working to improve public education in St. Paul.

People can register for both of these events online, or call me at 651/774-2957.
